I think the all time Spanish record for October went as well with 37.6c
I'm in Carcassonne in France and it's been roasting here - low 30s. Waiting to here if the all time French October record of 32c went today.

Bonkers!

Edit - Spain recorded a staggering 38.2c today obliterating the old October record.
France did similar with a staggering 35.5c at Anglars!

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Less than 24 hours since residents in parts of Australia's Victoria state fled bush fires, state authorities are now warning of flooding as heavy rain douses flames and lifts rivers in the southeastern state.
Flash flooding is expected through Wednesday afternoon in northeastern Victoria, according to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, as rain drenched parts of the state where as recently as yesterday, around 17,000 hectares were ablaze.

Spain could end up with something like 15 days in a row of national record hot temperatures when this heatwave is done. Already several record days in, and latest actual and maxes for 8 days today onwards are 35, 37, 36, 36, 35, 34, 34, 34. With 30s up into Galicia, so not just an Andalusian thing.

Today actual + future modelled maxes for SW France on the same days are also quite something: 30, 31, 31, 33, 32, 32, 34, 28. That's 4 days hitting or breaking the previous all time record that was already smashed this month.

It seems winter has arrived early in some parts of China with much snow and with very cold temperatures - with some forecasts of cold temperature records being broken.
