Here in Edinburgh, the clouds are starting to build up a bit more but it was mostly sunny right up until lunchtime.

Despite that though and despite the time of year, the temperatures are still struggling at a very chilly 3°C as at 1pm GMT (13:00 UTC) this afternoon which would still be slightly below average even in the depths of winter here.

A beautifully sunny snow-covered afternoon here and actually feels quite pleasant with light winds.

It's looking like a really cold one tonight as an official air frost has already been recorded once again at all three of my local stations with the temperatures already down to around -3°C at Edinburgh Airport as at 9pm GMT (21:00 UTC) this evening.

According to weatherobs.com though, some even colder temperatures than that are being recorded in many places with the temperature at Cairnwell in the Scottish Highlands already down to around -10°C.

I thought perhaps I may even be in with a chance of something wintry in nature even here at Folkestone as temperatures fell down to 2.6 C & 0 C Dew an hour ago (10.45 pm) under thin cloud cover, but then shot up to 4.2 C & 2 C Dew currently where I think the change in wind direction is causing it to be onshore so I shall expect to wake up to dampness under a cold waft as usual tomorrow morning.
