21 up, 18 down this morning. Pleasant enough!

(It's meant to be several degrees colder than recently today, however; it's reached a rounded 20 the past two days but today GFS has just 14, while MetO has 16, cloud and rain in both cases.)

18.5 C

I've got some friends coming round for coffee this morning and I know they keep their house at 21-22 C. Shall I sacrifice my principles and turn the heating on? Probably yes, and regard it as a test run for the winter to come.

16.7C currently but no heat on as it is set to come on at 16.5°C and the sun will soon warm things up a bit (not that it feels cold anyway!)

17.5c all day yesterday which was dull and rainy.

16.5c this morning, which will hopefully rise when the sun gets to work.

19.5c this morning. A peak at 6pm yesterday of 20.4c after some weak hazy afternoon sunshine.

A couple of days of thick cloud and cooler outside temperatures coming up now. With the lack of diurnal lift a slow decline can now be expected.

I think the max of 9°C forecast for here on Monday along with strong northerly winds and showers will almost guarantee the heat comes on.it’s not been on for a few days and it’s still a very pleasant 18.4°C inside currently.

19 up, 17 down this morning. Despite a forecast min of 14C (both GFS and MetO), it's currently 11.6C and falling - helping temperatures fall a little.

No need for heating today, but possibly in the next day or two it'll come on. (It's on "eco" at 14C at the moment, but will be set to 16.5C or 17C when it's time for it to be used regularly.)

16.5 C. I weakened yesterday and put the heating on for half an hour to take the chill off for my temperature-sensitive guests; not that they're wimps, they do have health problems.

Steady today. 19.2c at 6am, 19.1c currently. Comfortable for doing normal activities but a little chilly if sitting still watching TV for a while.

The cooker is on now. For tea we are having salmon, new potatoes and vegetables. The salmon takes 30-35 mins in the oven with the new potatoes in the steamer on the hob around 25 minutes. Hopefully these will be on long enough to raise downstairs briefly to 20c.

A cloudy day outside with a steady breeze and temps around 15-16c has done little raise the temperature.

I'm wearing jogging bottoms and a long sleeved top indoors now. I miss those weeks and weeks of 22c + days, doors and windows open wearing shorts and T shirts.

We've had no proper boost from afternoon sunshine this past week. A couple of days this week will be needed to avoid dropping into daytime sub 18c territory and the need for central heating not needed since 5th May.

18.3c the low this morning but some nice early bonus sunshine through the east facing windows has raised the temperature to 18.6c. We have no south facing windows as its joined to next door. Fingers crossed we can squeeze out a sunny afternoon from 2pm when the low angle sun can give us the boost the house needs through the west facing windows.

Yesterday evenings high of 19.6c

23 up and 19 down after a good deal of sunshine, it peaked at 17.7 outside earlier.

Much cooler and windier tomorrow, with rain, so it should cool down quite quickly indoors.

Its becoming a struggle.

Had hoped that the afternoon sun and light breeze would provide a decent internal warming day in the critical 2.30pm to 4.30pm period. Sadly it didn't.

By 3pm it had turned hazy and by 4.30pm it was largely cloudy. As a result it limped up to 19.4c from a noon temperature of 18.7c. The cooker came on at 4.30pm and by 6pm after the roast had cooked it briefly topped out at 20.3c. This sort of warmth is not sustainable, it burns gas and money and soon leaks away. Currently 19.5c and on the way down.

A cool week in store. Any afternoon sunshine and brief warming will no doubt soon be lost with a run of single figure minimum temperatures and a fair ole breeze early in the week.

It would be nice to get to October without using the central heating. With such a cool week for late September its doubtful. It will get switched on for an hour boost if the early evening maximum temperature of 18c (64f) is not achieved. At this rate it's looking like Tuesday.
