I've worked out that this ambient inside temperature is approximately 3 to 4c warmer than the outside average temperature (July and August were 19.7 and 20.4 respectively).

Sub 19c is fairly uncomfortable for sitting still indoors meaning that outside average temperatures will need to fall sub 15c for that urge to click some heating on. By my reckoning that will be early October.

Light breezes and sunny days will prolong the internal warmth.

The new extractor fan is on. A window is open. 23.5c. The reading on the thermostat provides the temperature.

Another very warm day today, so no chance of it being particularly pleasant indoors.

23C downstairs, 27C upstairs (windows are open up there, they're firmly closed and curtains drawn downstairs... trapped some colder air this morning) and 25.6C outside.

What that for the fan?  I only see them for bathrooms on some houses while pubs used to have them for smoke to go out.

The extractor fan has automatic sensors for steam or condensation.  It is a very modern small fan. Curo Housing is putting them in the kitchens whilst the kitchen is refurbished from top to bottom.  My kitchen refurbishment was completed this morning.

The temperature indoors today is 22.0c.

Thanks for telling me, in my old house in Epsom we had one fitted on the top window in the kitchen due to old boiler we had get steamy every time the winds move to NE which blow the fumes back inside the house.  Now staying in Letchworth until 22nd Sept, I am sure it still holding over 22C as day time outside still going in low 20;s ranges.

21.8c in the hallway today. We've lost a couple of degrees in recent days and are being mindful to keep doors and windows closed when its sub 20c outside. Hopefully some afternoon sunshine will pop the indoor temperature up to 22c in the next couple of hours.

A rather cool night tonight and a somewhat cloudy day tomorrow will probably do little to arrest the slow fall. Hopefully some 24-25c outside air on Monday with lower angle sunshine and the patio doors open will draw some warmth back in.

Yesterday was the first day since June I didn't need to have the windows open, or the a/c on, to cool the house to a bearable level.

21C upstairs when I got in (a brief high of 21C outside, but a largely cloudy day meant solar heating was limited) and 19C by the morning.

21.0c at 7am this morning. Some morning sunshine through the east facing windows has pushed the temperature up to 21.4c. A burst of morning sunshine is important as we have no south facing windows and have to wait until 2pm for the sun to move round to the west facing windows.

Yesterday the temperature rallied, peaking at 22.4c, thanks to some low angle prolonged sunshine through those windows between 4.30 and 5.30pm.

I'm looking forward to Monday when hopefully we can let in some 25c outside air in.

Quite pleasant, really, although it was a couple of degrees too warm when I went to bed.

21.4c at 6am this morning (up 0.4) from yesterday. All due to a sunny day yesterday and calm conditions overnight.

This morning the sun shines strongly through those east facing windows with a pleasant hallway temperature of 21.9c.

Weather conditions to be treasured to avoid the dreaded switch on !

No central heating needed since 5th May.
