So, as luck would have it I'm off work today. The mission is to keep the house cooler indoors than it was yesterday, but it's not going to be easy!
Currently 15.7C outside, but no wind whatsoever.
Indoors it's 23.5C downstairs, the windows have been open all night (so starting from a relatively high level).
Upstairs, again with the windows open, it's 25C... aside from my bedroom, where it's 21C (as I had the a/c on all night).
The plan is to keep the windows open all the time it's more than 1C cooler outside, then I'll close them. I'll keep the a/c on today once I close the windows, even though it'll cost a small fortune, in the hope it'll help moderate temperatures indoors somewhat.
TBH I've no idea how to keep things cool IF it gets to 40C, or even close to it. There's usually a few hours' grace before the inside warms up to the outside temperature, but these muggy, warm nights aren't helping much!
EDIT: Patio doors wide open, fan on the patio blowing into the living room. It's gone from 23.5 to 22 in the space of 10 minutes in there.
