Suppose it could be. Leuchars just to the south is 25.7C.

Just tested positive for the plague for the first time in 2.5 years, just in time for the heatwave. What joy.

That's bad luck. I had it in early April and barely noticed it. Fingers crossed you get off lightly - fever plus hot weather is not a good combo.

Edinburgh Airport isn't far behind either with a temperature of 26°C as at 1:50 pm BST (12:50 UTC) this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank had jumped up even further to 25.2°C as at 2pm BST (13:00 UTC) this afternoon but the botanic gardens in Edinburgh is still the hottest station here with a temperature of 26.1°C as at that same time.

The Aboyne readings are 100% legitimate! Agreed there is a problem with the dewpoint reading but it is a beautiful day here. Currently 27.9C in my garden 2 miles from the official Met Office site.

Any temperatures from France. After all the heat has to cross them to get here.

27C here, but with a 16C dewpoint it feels pretty darned hot.

Looks like dewpoints are a fair bit lower further inland.

28.3 at SJP at 3pm. Leuchars in second place with 28.1. Doesn't look like we will quite get to 30 today.

Sorry to hear that and I hope you don’t suffer. I had it in May but was just a bit nasally. Hope it’s as mild for you!

Here in Edinburgh, the temperature at 3pm BST (14:00 UTC) this afternoon was now up to 26.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 27.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh so today is now the first day of this year when a temperature of 80°F or higher has been recorded anywhere here in Edinburgh.

However, the temperature at Edinburgh Airport appears to have now maxed out at 26°C.

On that very day back in 2019 when the UK's highest ever temperature on record was recorded at the botanic gardens down in Cambridge, Edinburgh Gogarbank had its own hottest day on record with a temperature of 31.6°C and yet, the temperature at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh got no higher than 26.2°C on that day, thanks to a breeze from off the North Sea which kept the north of Edinburgh that bit cooler.

This means that today has actually been even hotter at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh than what it was there on that very same day when that famous temperature record was broken at nearby Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Quite remarkable when you think about it.

Loads of places now at 28C so seems likely at least 1 will hit 29. Wisely dispersed heat too, almost countrywide.

The record breaking 6 days consecutively above 40c here in Perth this January was very well modelled ahead of time. Interesting that once again this spell in the UK seems to be flagged well ahead of time. Providing of course it happens.
