Solid summer charts.

MO again showing July settling down into a settled spell, with high pressure to the west and ridging over the UK. No real heat (potentially coolish notherly flow, especially toward the east) but nice for almost all of the country.

The problem is that this is a general set-up that both GFS and ECM have been persistently showing in the models for the period of about +144 onwards for about a fortnight, but it's kept changing as the time has approached.

It'd be nice for it to properly come off (and get stuckin a settled, pleasant, sunny rut) for the rest of summer!!

 

 

Would personally like the weather to keep it mixed. Azores high ridging is one of the most mind numbingly boring weather types.

Give me some summer thunderstorms!

Indeed, lovely classic English summer conditions progged. For many members that will be ideal - not everyone wants raging heat. Liking the output, personally. 

Classic English summer conditions would suit me perfectly!  I’ve grown out of wanting raging heat and sticky, sultry nights.

We were in The Azores last month.  Lovely islands but we barely saw the sun, as it was mostly cloudy and occasionally drizzly.

Wouldn't suit for us all to think the same.

In summer, I just want a bit of certainty, so you can plan BBQ's/get-togethers/days out with an element of likelihood it'll be decent weather (obviously can't guarantee it, but in a prolonged settled spell you hugely improve the odds!)

 Exactly what I thought when we were there!  My vision of the beautiful  tropical Azores weather has been shattered!

GFS 12z wants a glorious UK High by Saturday week followed by an insane heatwave for the south east in Fantasy Island. Said brutal heatwave would deliver a ludicrous NW/SE split with London at 100F and Liverpool barely scratching 70F.

Probably a daft solution but the trends to finer, warmer weather are undoubtably there.

The MFS will be forecasting torrential rain throughout - albeit only in a five mile radius from Witney town hall.
