Given that rainfall is increasingly becoming something which we don't ever get here any more, I was wondering whether or not there was any point in actually creating this thread since we are probably only going to get yet another drier than average month yet again.

I suppose though, that some areas might get some decent amounts of rain, especially if they are impacted by thunderstorms during this month. Because of that, this is the very place to record those all important rainfall totals throughout this month.

There was a heavy shower of rain during yesterday which completely missed me altogether here in the north of Edinburgh where I am, but which produced a total of 2.0 mm of rain at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

As a result, the total for Edinburgh Gogarbank for both this month and this summer so far is 2.0 mm as at 8am BST (07:00 UTC) this morning.

Since that shower of rain missed the north of Edinburgh altogether, nothing was registered from that at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh where the total for both this month and this summer remains firmly stuck on 0.0 mm as at 8am BST (07:00 UTC) this morning.

28mm now after the heavy overnight rain - meaning we had 13mm overnight.

At least I think it is. I'm pretty sure I emptied the rain gauge after the last recording   If I didn't we had 6mm and are up to 21mm

Anyone else got any readings for round here last night? Tim A?
