The Snow warnings have been a little OTT of late, my BBC weather forecast for my area has snow showing for the next 8 days !!! But during the last 24 hour snow event we were supposed to get, we just had sleety light rain with only 6 mm. Having said that, the cairngorm plateaux will certainly be getting a good dump in the next week. Places like aviemore, Grantown on spey, Carrbridge , nethy bridge could certainly see a couple of feet with these forecasts. Iam going to keep a check on snow depths ( if they happen) for my spot. Will be interesting to see what transpires. Certainly the normal road closures will happen  Glenshee to Bramaer, tomintoul to ballater, and the A9 could get very difficult in places. Some areas east of Grampian mountains looks like getting a good amount too.
Time will tell, interesting to see if the mini beast does transpire down south, currently like watching Dr who’s tardis , one minute there, next minute gone ! Will the holy grail turn up? 50/50 currently. One things for sure, it’s still going to stay bloody cold up here.

Snow here at 70m but not settling. It's white at modest height above 120m though, including Arthur's Seat

Nice covering of snow around 22.00 last night around 1" but mostly all gone by this morning.

Currently light rain with a little snow mixed in 2.5C . Hoping we might get some more snowfall later tonight as Temp drop but not looking good right now .

Chuffin incessant torrential rain here, for a change...not...then again i do live on the flatlands of Holderness and we haven't had snow for 2yrs so what else would you expect...!! Short term snow potential for my region...nil, long term potential ie next week...meh, future winters potential...poor

Just rain at 1c , now risen to 2c , melting the snow!  Might be more wintry further North.

I noticed this forecast for Aboyne , only at modest elevation. It doesn't come much better than this. Such a wintry week in store.

Similar forecast here, although I’d expect Aboyne to be a bit more favourable for snow. Slight blip on Friday through the day but after that, from evening onwards it should turn.
