Only 26C here.
27.1c at half 9 here. Wow just wow!Very gusty winds. Local Foehn effect in action off the Pennines.
We could be in for something incredible today.
27.9C now in the city centre at 9.35am.
We will be over 30C at the 09:50 checkpoint.
Same in Cyprus when it reach 30C at 9.30am always maxed out, 31C would give 39C and 32C would give 40C by 3pm max but for here longer daylight hours it would give us max around 4pm to 6pm so 38C or over in Heathrow is likely. Come on make it to 40C once here.
I am praying for no cloud - I was so angry on 1 July 2015
Latest Harmonie is going for a top temp of 38.7c in London today and that within a possible range of between 37.1c and 40.2c I am watching to see how this pans out in reality as this is the hi-res model that is officially used by our own Met Eireann here, and which replaced the 'HIRLAM' model as the official 'go to'.
Other London max temps forecast by other models today:
HIRLAM 37.3c
ECMWF 36.1c
GFS: 35.0c
EURO4 35.2c
ICON EU: 36.0c.
ARPEGE: 37.2c
AMONE: 35.9c.

28.8c in my back garden already Will be eagerly checking that again when I get home from my cooled, aircon office, later!
A couple of showers have developed in the channel. Track currently puts them west of London around Reading.
They look like the popcorn variety, so hopefully they will die before reaching the mainland.
The returns over NW France are definitely now developing. They will start the journey over the Channel towards the far SE at around 1pm by the looks of it. I think this will knock the top off the temperatures in Kent.
31.6 on the latest Heathrow synop (850z)!
The undecoded raw data appears very fast here: https://www.ogimet.com/display_synops2.php?lang=en&tipo=ALL&ord=REV&nil=SI&fmt=html&anof=2019&mesf=07&dayf=25&horaf=19&minf=14&ano=2019&mes=07&day=24&hora=07&min=14&lugar=03772
The MetO automated output has just shaved another 1C off the high for much of Kent and is now forecasting early afternoon thunderstorms around Ashford.
