Already -5 C here after a max of 0 C. Powdering of snow and frost from Tuesday night/Wed early hours. Travelled down from Pitlochry today through areas of freezing fog and rime covered forests. The snow covered mountains were looking fantastic rising above the inversion against blue sky. Crossing over the Forth, the bridges were rising out of the fog...superb!

Much colder tonight though the fall has levelled off. -3.4C at the moment. Sunniest day since 22nd October as well with 7.0 hours.

Stayed below freezing until 1pm but reached 3.0C in the afternoon sunshine so still on course to be the first winter since 2007/08 to fail to record a sub-2C max.

Pretty much impossible to get an ice day now unless it stays grey all day like 28th February and 1st March 2018 and I can do without a repeat of those vile conditions.

Barely any thaw today - most thawing happened yesterday.

Currently -2C/-5C with a light easterly breeze, everything frozen solid. 

Snow shower, -5.3 c, in Wooler area.

-5c, clear skies after the E'y breeze picked up after dusk.
