-7C with an overnight low of -8C, sunny with a few wisps of high cloud. No sign of the fog we were warned of.

Coldest of the winter, could have been lower if we had some snow cover.

Looks like UK wide we had some low temps. -6C here, feels fresh but a lovely morning. Seems like it is quite hard to get to -5C these days even in cold areas.

The Sun is now shining here in Edinburgh, but it is very cold and frosty just now.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was -6.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -8°C at Edinburgh Airport and -5.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which makes last night, the coldest night of this winter so far, and of the entire autumn/winter season. This at least means now, that we don't have to say in the end that this happened during last October which is well outside the actual winter.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Down to -6.4C here. Could have easily managed -8C if it hadn't been for that stupid and pointless wind preventing the temperature from dropping for most of the evening.
