18z and 00z EURO4 weren’t so spectacular in terms of lying snow compared to the 12z yesterday.

Still showing accumulations though.

Will be interesting the see what this trough can deliver as it passes through. Looks to be some quite intense echoes on it.

6z GFS snow cast for tomorrow morning: These things have a habit of being inaccurate, even at 6 hours.

Meanwhile Euro 4 suggest laying snow up to 10cms thick around here by tomorrow morning 9am  I simply don't believe it.

Judging by the precip radar that band of snow is pivoting back up country, so some places will get a good covering!  Not me though as I’m in the clear middle bit at the centre!

Something interesting going on out in the Northern Channel. The snow belt having exited east is now pivoting back away from France and moving NW towards the S.E. Not sure how far it will get but something to keep an eye on.

Looking at the radar and the existing conditions, I would suggest that in the Dover area, that a further 5cms of fresh snow is possible on top of the existing 3cms in the Whitfield area to the north of the town, so more significant than any snowfall since March 2013 potentially, and potentially much deeper than anything the BftE delivered there last year! A finishing total of 10cms is not out of the question. Temperatures are in the region 0 to -1 in the hiller parts there at the moment.

Yes, a cheeky trough wanders down the country overnight giving some snow for some. Picked up nicely on the new 6z T+24 Fax:

Tonight has come as a bit of a surprise! Looks to primarily affect NW England and the Midlands.

UKV shows the possibility of some light snow.

Euro4 shows a line of precipitation https://expert-images.images-weatheronline.com/daten/proficharts/web/en/euro4/2019/01/23/basis06/ukuk/prec/19012406_2306.gif

But suggests rain as DPs are above freezing https://expert-images.images-weatheronline.com/daten/proficharts/web/en/euro4/2019/01/23/basis06/ukuk/taup/19012406_2306.gif

Looks more marginal than last night, eastern parts/Midlands may have more luck (if you get the precipitation).

One to watch.

I'm expecting rain.
