It is quite annoying because that shower we just had was pretty decent and an alright length and it is still snowing lightly. It was only just starting to take to the cars and creating a little bit of slush on the ground before it slowed down. It will now no doubt just be wetter on the ground ready for the next snow shower to do the same.

There were some lovely big flakes though which was nice to see.

Now looking sleety :(

Showers fizzling out as they come into west coast of Scotland mainland towards Glasgow, so after a few inches this morning, think that might be it. Sun out, snow melting and temp up to 1.6dc

IF (it's a big if) the temp can fall a degree or so, perhaps aided by some lighter winds/evav cooling, it could be an interesting afternoon.

Light blistery wind.  Occasional snow flakes.  had something that looked like all out snow this morning for a minute or two, but reckon it was still sleet.

Watch out guys.... winter is here!!!

Hi,

We have had showers on and off all morning mostly of snow even here just East of Liverpool. There was even thunder heard in town I believe.

Right now we are ten minutes into a heavy, big flaked snow shower that is sticking to the grass and trying to stick to the floor.

Exciting times! (I know, I'm easily pleased!)

PPN breaking up and splitting in the usual way as soon as it gets here at the moment. Skies darkening though so hoping for better luck soon

Coming down thick and fast now, ironically this is the second heaviest fall of snow we’ve had since December 2010.😂😂😂

Grey skies here with light winds and light sleet/wet snow falling atm.  3 C @ 94% RH Conditions right for the heavier precip. to cause some evap. cooling with the light winds .. assuming it gets here!

I have been working this morning so I haven't really noticed too much, what the weather has actually been like although I did notice that we had what is technically, known as a wintry shower during that time. I only noticed a bit of rain from that, but a couple of my colleagues told me that they had noticed a few snowflakes mixed in with that.

The sad thing is though that even with that, we still cannot get any lying snow on the Pentland Hills and since this is a time when lots of other places are getting snow, this just shows how boring this part of the UK is in terms of our weather, compared to the rest of the UK (hence my relative lack of recent posts on this forum compared to normal).

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Had a shower of heavyish snow, really fat flakes, just after 1pm, but it fizzled to drizzle all too briefly, which was a pity as the cars at least were beginning to get covered.

There's nothing too organised over the Irish Sea set to move in, so brief showers looks like the best we can hope for, but the snow melts in between.

Could do with a little feature developing and moving SE'wards off the Irish Sea, but there's no signs of that at present
