I can see the PPN on the radar, but unfortunately it looks like it'll pass within the next half hour, and there's nothing showing behind it in the Irish Sea.

The PPN blob looks like it's coming in on a straight westerly, so Manchester might get some before midday.

Sounds good for here then. The size and intesity of the snow earlier was magical. Potentail for an inch or two out of the trough for the Peaks and Pennines if it holds together.

Snowing quite heavily here in Warrington suddenly. Coming down thick and fast! Very wet ground though so not really sticking

Isn't it really annoying when the first half hour or so of snowfall is wasted putting down a slushy base for the actual snow to begin to stick on and accumulate.

We seemed to have a lot of these snowfalls in the 80's and 90's, because I remember one snowfall in the 90's where I was made up because the snow began to fall on frozen ground and began sticking straight away; recall thinking "at last!"

Looks like something white is falling OVER Dartmoor and heading this way:

Heavy wet snow still continues over Dartmoor!

Still spits of rain here in Exeter and with hazy sunshine still preventing temps from falling and lighter precipitation will mean it will stay as rain! - It sounds icy in heavier bursts though!

It is quite annoying because that shower we just had was pretty decent and an alright length and it is still snowing lightly. It was only just starting to take to the cars and creating a little bit of slush on the ground before it slowed down. It will now no doubt just be wetter on the ground ready for the next snow shower to do the same.

There were some lovely big flakes though which was nice to see.

Now looking sleety :(

Looking at the radar, the next clump of PPN should be hitting you fairly soon. Just a question of whether this is also snow, or something more depressing...

Showers fizzling out as they come into west coast of Scotland mainland towards Glasgow, so after a few inches this morning, think that might be it. Sun out, snow melting and temp up to 1.6dc

Well it's started off drizzling at the edge of it so we shall see. It has been sunny in the meantime which has helped make the ground even wetter

Radar looks full out to our west.

IF (it's a big if) the temp can fall a degree or so, perhaps aided by some lighter winds/evav cooling, it could be an interesting afternoon.

Light blistery wind.  Occasional snow flakes.  had something that looked like all out snow this morning for a minute or two, but reckon it was still sleet.

Watch out guys.... winter is here!!!

Hi,

We have had showers on and off all morning mostly of snow even here just East of Liverpool. There was even thunder heard in town I believe.

Right now we are ten minutes into a heavy, big flaked snow shower that is sticking to the grass and trying to stick to the floor.

Exciting times! (I know, I'm easily pleased!)

PPN breaking up and splitting in the usual way as soon as it gets here at the moment. Skies darkening though so hoping for better luck soon

Coming down thick and fast now, ironically this is the second heaviest fall of snow we’ve had since December 2010.😂😂😂

Grey skies here with light winds and light sleet/wet snow falling atm.  3 C @ 94% RH Conditions right for the heavier precip. to cause some evap. cooling with the light winds .. assuming it gets here!
