UK Outlook for Monday 3 Sep 2018 to Wednesday 12 Sep 2018:

On Monday and Tuesday a slow moving band of cloud and increasingly patchy rain is likely to lie across UK. Away from this, it should be dry with variable cloud and some long sunny spells, although outbreaks of rain may affect the far north later. Temperatures will be warm, possibly very warm in the south and east, but closer to normal elsewhere. Through the rest of the period more settled conditions are likely to become established, with a good deal of dry weather, and increasing sunshine. However, the far north and west may still occasionally be windy, with some rain at times. There will be some warm days, especially in the southeast, but there may be some chilly nights, with an increasing risk of fog.

UK Outlook for Thursday 13 Sep 2018 to Thursday 27 Sep 2018:

Throughout this forecast period it seems most likely that the weather pattern will change only slowly, and this will maintain a good deal of dry, warm and settled weather, although there may be some brief spells of more changeable conditions. Northern and western areas are most likely to have occasionally wet and windy spells, but these are likely to be short-lived, with some more settled interludes at times here too. Daytime temperatures are expected to be above average overall, with some warm days in the across the south and east, and with the warmer conditions perhaps spreading further north and west at times. However, as the nights lengthen through September, any longer clear nights may lead to some quite low overnight temperatures, with an accompanying risk of patchy fog.

But that's so rare to see so much and so early!?

We went from Winter to summer in 3 weeks here in the UK March daytime of -1 or -2c even on 18th March and then maxes of +3c on 30th March 2018, then less than 3 weeks later in April we hit 26c in the south east and 25c in the South west of UK?! - We never had the norm spring or April showers did we?

I wonder if we could go from summer to winter in 3 weeks!? hmm...! Heck no but anything can happen ...given solar minimum approaching so soon!?

I know we obsess about the CET on this forum, but it was officially the hottest summer ever for England as a whole. A much more important stat. Joint hottest for UK  as well.

How do they arrive at that conclusion when the cet clearly proves it was 5th in the cet series? If indeed summer 2018 was hotter than 1976 it will show the cet is seriously flawed and does not represent an accurate  picture.

UK Outlook for Saturday 8 Sep 2018 to Monday 17 Sep 2018:

It will be an unsettled start to this period, with low pressure dominating through the weekend. There will be showers or longer spells of rain, particularly for central and northern areas, with somewhat drier and brighter conditions across the south. Windy and rather cool at first but winds will tend to ease by Sunday, with warmer conditions developing for some. It should turn more settled across central and southern areas through next week, with increasing amounts of dry and fine weather. More unsettled weather will affect the northwest at times, with spells of heavy rain and strong winds. Warm for many and perhaps turning very warm in the south and east. However, under clear spells, there could be some chilly nights with the risk of morning fog patches.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 18 Sep 2018 to Tuesday 2 Oct 2018:

During the second half of September indications are that there will a good deal of dry and warm weather around, especially in the southeast. However, spells of more changeable weather are likely as the month progresses. Daytime temperatures are expected to be above average overall, with some warm days across the south and east at the start of the period, and with the warmer weather spreading further north and west at times. However, as the nights lengthen through September, longer clear nights will lead to some low overnight temperatures, with an accompanying risk of patchy fog across the UK, and frost in the north.

UK weather forecast SHOCK: Early winter FREEZE to blast Britain due to CLIMATIC ANOMALIES

"BITTER winds and sub-zero temperatures threaten to plunge Britain into an early winter freeze amid predictions Arctic misery will grip the nation WITHIN WEEKS.

A dramatic change in the weather is forecast to set in during the second half of October prompting warnings to wrap up for a bone-numbing end to 2018.

Climatic anomalies associated with colder than normal UK winter weather appear to be building across the globe.

Solar activity forecasts point towards the sun entering a period of reduced output during winter 2018/19 – a so-called solar minimum.

An El Nino warming of the eastern Pacific could also become established by the end of the year while fluctuating sea temperatures around Britain also threaten to drive a trend towards cold weather.

Exacta Weather’s James Madden said the current unusually warm weather should largely hold out until the end of next month before temperatures plummet."

Even by the normal muppetry standards that article is impressive “The entire country will boil in temperatures almost 20C higher than normal for the time of year towards the middle of next week, experts say.”

Let me see - It is forecast to reach the high teens here.

<has a look at the mean maxima in September for this location..>

Righteo, I’m looking forward to some warmth next week compared with the ice days we apparently normally get in the third week of September. Thanks Nathan.

I am sure there must be stronger word than muppetry but Mega Cyclone really takes this biscuit even by his warped standards.

UK Outlook for Sunday 23 Sep 2018 to Tuesday 2 Oct 2018:

A fine, but cool start to the weekend is likely in most parts of the UK, with the best of the sunshine on Saturday expected in eastern areas. However, through Saturday wet weather is expected to arrive across the west, perhaps pushing across the UK on Sunday, potentially also bringing strong winds. Atlantic weather systems are then likely to continue to arrive from the west through the rest of the period bringing generally wetter conditions in the northwest, and drier conditions persisting for longest in the southeast. Strong winds are likely at times, particularly in the northwest with a low risk of gales. Inbetween spells of rain there will be some pleasant sunshine and these more settled spells may become more dominant with time.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 3 Oct 2018 to Wednesday 17 Oct 2018:

October will see periods of dry and fine weather at times, especially in the south and southeast where there may be some warm days. Occasional spells of more unsettled weather are likely, mainly in the northwest where there is a risk of gales and heavy rain at times. These conditions will perhaps occasionally extend across other areas too. Overall daytime temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above average in the southeast with a cooler feel under cloud and rain in the northwest. However the lengthening nights means that there will be some cool overnight temperatures, with an accompanying risk of patchy morning fog in prone spots.
