A decaying weather front has finally brought a little bit of rain down from the NW, but has clearly never actually properly moved through as it is still overcast and very warm and muggy.

In the end, a total of 1.4 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 5.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 17.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh so once again, this is not going to be very comfortable for trying to sleep.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Regardless of what the weather is like though, I hope that you will enjoy your visit to this city.

Anyway, we have had a little taste of that permacast hell this morning as the day has dawned to yet another boring grey nothingness. The Sun is trying hard to be seen through that cloud, but there has been nothing at all in the way of sunshine recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night was very warm and sticky, and the overnight minimum temperature was 16.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 18.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 19°C at Edinburgh Airport and 19.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Here in Edinburgh, our permacast hell goes on with yet more constantly grey skies and nothing else actually happening. The Sun did come out briefly a short time ago, but it has now gone back behind those clouds and so a total of just 6 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for the whole of today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 20.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 21°C at Edinburgh Airport and 19.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Fine and sunny in Aberdeen. A few puffy clouds in the sky but nothing overly threatening or organised as yet. Currently a very muggy 24c at Aberdeen Airport.

There's a plague of hover flies though the likes I've never seen before.
