NHC pessimistic about much development because of presence of dry air in central Atlantic. Meanwhile there's a disturbance in the Gulf which may deliver heavy rain to Texas even if it doesn't develop more strongly, and, surprisingly, TS Bill has appeared out of nowhere. Bill is off Virginia and heading up to Newfoundland

TD3 as the above is now named is about to hit the US Gulf Coat with some 10" of rain, after dropping a similar amount around Oaxaca, but may not quite make it to becoming a named storm (It will be Claudette if it does).

Worth watching, as it's forecast to emerge onto the Atlantic as stiill an organised feature in 4-5 days' time and start disrupting weather patterns for the N Atlantic.
