Well done to both, I guessed 15.91C, which is one of my closest ever guesses, and I still don't win

I went for 15.5C - so I shouldn't have lost too many points there. Certainly much closer than I was for July.

I'm sat under average for all three categories. It backs up what I thought - although as we lacked a hot spell, and mins (IMO) were above ave, it added up to a 'nothing' month

Here is the summer CET chart. On the cool side at 0.32C below the 1971-2000 mean and 0.60C below the 1981-2010 mean.

CET competition tables will be published tomorrow evening.

Annual CET competition - August update

No change at the top of the table this month - for the first time this year. lanky holds on to the top spot. Deep Powder moves up to second and Hungry Tiger drops to third. NeilM, Caz and Dougie all moving up this month into 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.

The prediction errors this month were the smallest of the year and quite closely clustered so there are no major movers in the table unlike what we saw over the previous couple of months.

Many thanks GW and congrats to Lanky for sticking with the top spot.

I've had a good year so far and have spent quite a dizzying time on the top table.  Surely it can't last!

Thanks Caz

I'm not used to these dizzying heights in this comp either

I think I might have gone a bit OTT on the cold for my September guess judging by latest info so could well be another new No. 1 next month
