How on earth did those snowy footprints form??

OK, here's an idea. Someone walks across the snow and compacts it under their feet. Then the wind picks up and drifts the dry snow towards the centre. However the compacted snow isn't light enough to be blown around and stays put, leaving the snowy footprints on the bare ground.

There’s another on YouTube if you Google ‘Revelstoke snow devil’; quite a good, short clip (about a minute or so)

Still snowing there this morning - huge amounts of snow, certainly by our standards.

Also still snow falling in Revelstoke, up near the Canadian Rockies.

Watch Revelstoke day and night. Not just for the snow but for the very long trains. Sometime using 3 engines.

Some people walk in the rain.
Others just get wet.
