Just in case, anyone wants to report any convective activity in their area in the very near future, I have created this thread to allow that person to do so.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

A bit of thunder & lightning here this morning. Not a lot but in the last 15mins or so we've had a few rumbles!

Fair chance of isolated storms tomorrow with a developing trough in the south.

Looks like most of the storms will be east of the Isle of wight with a convergence line running up through the east and south east

Definitely hit and miss today could be some great cloudscapes though, further east you are better chance

Huge dark CuNimb approaching Austwick in Yorkshire Dales. After a 30 C walk things are changing rapidly now. Sat outside the pub watching the rain approach. No thunder as yet

Definite signs of instability, Norfolk could do well out of this

I do hope so! Gin clear skies here at the moment.

Thunder being reported from my daughter near Nottingham. Heavy, dark skies here in Ilkley. The odd big drop of rain but I think all action will be in Eastern England

Was just about to post the same and we’ve just had a clap of thunder!  Yay!  Hopefully fresher air is on its way!

Keeping hearing deep booming rumbles to my South. Just checked on the detectors and it’s over 40 miles away!! Is it because the storms are high based why the thunder can be heard so far away?

Sky dark to my south and a strong smell of petrichor. More thunder.

Edit - big rain drops now too and louder thunder.

We have a proper tropical storm here now!  Thunder, lightning and vertical bouncy rain.  Temp dropped from 33c to 25c in twenty minutes!  Fantastic stuff!

I think it’s past its best now.  Sky black to my North but brighter South and the rain has almost stopped but the thunder is still rumbling.  Another really good summer storm!  Just like being in the Caribbean!
