Sorry Roger!  It’s gone North!  You may get a bit of rain soon. My brother’s at his caravan in Ingoldmells and he still has blue sky, so I sent him a video of what he’s missing.  He’s had a max temp of 26c, whereas we’ve had a horribly oppressive 35c here.  I suspect you’ve had something in between.

Can hear the thunder from here but it a way off, Doncaster up to the east of Leeds. Some intense rainfall over that way.

Hope you get it Tim!  It seems to be quite a wide cell, so it may make it West!

The Glasgow based members of this forum might be interested to see that there are some very bright echoes showing up in that part of the world just now which means that there is obviously some very torrential rain going on through there just now.

In addition to that, there are also some lightning flashes showing up further along that front to the south of Glasgow which may well be heading in that direction.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Thanks, we had a couple of  intense showers with massive rain drops ,very tropical feeling and some rumbles of thunder but nothing like what you and others have experienced to the east of here.

All in all a great day though, wasn't even expecting 30c a few days ago , that was smashed and some convection to top it off.

We've just had some bright flashes and loud rumbles over Ilkley with an impressive sunset at the same time!

Heavy thunderstorm over the eastern side of Sheffield earlier this evening. Plenty of high based lightning and thunder. Cracking sunset afterwards as well.

A good day!

Hi John

We had one flash and a quiet rumble during a torrential downpour to the north-east of Glasgow around 8:10/8:15pm. I wasn't aware of any more thunder after this but there could have been more not far from here which escaped my attention. I wasn't really expecting any thundery activity in this neck of the woods tonight and I don't think the BBC forecasters were either IIRC.

about an hour of thunder and weakish lightning west of Glasgow. Was forecast on certain BBC bulletins as ‘risk of thundery showers’
Cleared then a further short lived bout. Moved east and weakened. Interesting none the less.

You were right, Caz.

We got one flash of lightning to the NE and a bit of a downpour approx 21.30hrs. Bloody hot outside and upstairs.

Looks like being warm again today but less so.

We’ve broken a watering can.  Says quite a lot about where the rain has been in the last few months.

You did, Bedur - and it was small! Nevertheless, it was appreciated.
