I'm surprised you don't know, being an Admin type person!

Brian very kindly provided me with a utility that allows me to download a file containing everyone's user ID and post count. I do that at the start and end of each month, and then use Excel to compare the files. The differences between the post count at the start and end of each month allows me to compile the information, which I then store in a database.

I've only had that utility since December 2005; in the early days I did it all manually.

I probably spent as long on it in those days as I do now, because there were things I didn't do then, such as the write-up, the records, the all-time chart, etc.

But also, the records weren't complete, there were some  months where I no doubt missed someone who should have been in the Top 100. Throughout the month I used to observe who posted a reasonable amount, and ensure they were included the next time. Certainly I'm sure that the Top 50 or so was pretty much bang on each time.

As I said, since December 2005, the records have been accurate to the post.

Anyway, is anyone else looking at the annual summary? Only two people (you and Romfordman) have commented so far!

Great stuff Darren - nice to be a top 5 female I was going to ask why you hadn't done a top 5 for England, but I think I've worked it out!

Thank you for all the hard work, I love statistics

Fantastic work Darren, well-put together, this must take a while to do, but it makes a great read. I'm pleased to be at 37 as that is my lucky number. It is a shame to see there is a general decline in posting though, I hope this doesn't continue into the future, as it is a great forum.

As I said - if you look closer, the increase in posting between June - October, and the very bouyant November, are encouraging. I think that a lot of the decline, at least when compared to 2010, can be put down to (a) the moribund weather and lack of snow in 2011, and (b) Gooner reducing the number of "J F F" posts he made.

I've only just seen it

An excellent job as usual - and very interesting.  Hadn't realised just how my annual posting rate had been creeping up in recent years!   There seems to be an inverse relationship with how busy I am at work .....

Great stuff Darren!

In 5 years on TWO this is the first time I've realised there is a year summary! Now I've got 3 to read through!

Or try a few rounds of the three word game in the F.A with Romfordman. He shalt not be defeated.

Thanks Darren!  Just read the annual report for 2011!  214th eh?  Well, must try harder to get into the top 200.

I think logging in at least once in 2011, let alone posting, might have helped.

For the record, you've already done enough to ensure an appearance in the Top 400 of 2012!
