I think some people haven't yet grasped the fundamental change in the UK climate in recent years. More so, Cardiff City Council, who seem to think that drinking water and sun lotion is the cure for heatstroke.
My daughter is not going now. Our garden yesterday afternoon and evening made that decision for her. I've been to Bute Park in Cardiff and at that time it felt green and pleasant. I get the impression the organiser's insurance doesn't cover this kind of extreme weather event. So they need to go ahead, come 'rain or shine' as it says in the concert small print. I think the 'rain or shine' bit also comes somewhere into whatever insurance they hold. It wasn't anticipated by whoever signed off on this insurance policy that we'd be in this situation for this Wednesday. So they can't cancel without losing a lot of money. But they will also take a great risk in going ahead this evening.
If people still attend and suffer from heat-related issues, who is to blame? I think the City Council would have to bear some of the blame in this case, as they're going ahead despite numerous warnings to cancel it.
