Slowly brightening up with the current 12.9 C feeling mild in light SW breeze. Rather damp after 0.8 mm of rain fell last night but should dry up today. Looking good for this evening's light trail trip.

This morning started off with clear skies and even some sunshine to start today. As the morning has gone on though, we have seen an increasing number of showers which have now all merged together into a longer spell of rain, thus making it rather wet and miserable yet again.

It's still windy as well, though not as windy as yesterday and although you wouldn't actually think so given how wild it is at times out there, the graphs at weathers.com are clearly showing a gradual downward trend since yesterday.

Thankfully, we don't have those ridiculous record breaking high temperatures which we saw yesterday, so today isn't anything like as mild as it was yesterday but even with that, it's still yet another mild day with a temperature of around 9°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

3°C, and clear. I think a walk along the River Witham is called for. It earlier days it was known to freeze, but not now...

1.8c the low and 2.3c currently.

Blue skies and still, a good frost for the puppy walk earlier and the car was iced over.

A good day to start clearing up the old Apple tree that fell earlier in the week.

We had a bit of frost in the grass, when I got up this morning. It's lovely and sunny right now, with a very gentle breeze. the temp has risen from 2.6c at 8:30 to 3.7c now.

My Christmas Lunch and party in Ambleside on Sunday has been cancelled due to the Amber flood alert 😡 If it's as bad as forecast this will be the 3rd time Ambleside, Rydal and Grasmere have been flooded this autumn and winter, life can be hard around the central fells. Ambleside gets 2000+ mm of rain a year and around the Langdale fells, the catchment area, it's 3000+ a year

So I'm in Edinburgh where the wind is really getting up and the rain is nearly here....time to hunker down
