There was some overnight rain which resulted in a total of 6.0 mm of rain being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank from that.

However, that rain has now cleared away and in this year in which the Sun just won't stop shining, the Sun is indeed once again shining here this morning as per usual.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 10.4°C

Currently around 12°C here in Edinburgh

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Was hoping to see the first signs of Summer's final fling today but there's still too much low cloud, hill mist and drizzle due to high humidity in a long-fetched tropical airflow. Even the current 18.0 C & mid-90% H feels cold and clammy in a brisk south west breeze. Hopefully will have better luck with  the sun and warmth tomorrow but try not to miss it by blinking.

15.3C, clear to the south, light high cloud to the north.

Very humid - condensation appearing on the outside of windows despite the double glazing keeping it at a comfortable 20C indoors. I presume the outer of the double pane cooled overnight and moist air is now moving in. EDIT - 0800 - now very misty

16.9C. Freshening SW breeze with thick cloud.

Edit. Looking at the radar I'm in the dry part of the sandwich again. Heavy rain over France and spilling into SE England.

The other rain more patchy to the west. The forecast yesterday mentioned heavy rain here around 11am for a few hours. Probably won't come to much here I think today. The main course is now further east.

I arrived home from Yorkshire yesterday evening to clear blue skies and saw that it had reached an amazing 28C. What a contrast today, dull, humid and overcast with temperature currently at 16C !

Rain since about 7am but never very heavy, it has gone past 13mm which is easily wettest day since 6th January had 23mm.

Month suddenly on more respectable 45mm and at least as much more to come I would think.

This should ease (spring) water supply issues which were becoming quite concerning with well under 300mm about half normal this year so far.

The big moor fire is still burning in peat it will likely continue past Christmas but at flare ups into remaining unburned areas look less likely now.

Wind is not in north yet but already down to 9.2C
