Last night's overnight temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 10.6°C.

Once again though, it's Groundhog Day here in Edinburgh with the same old dry weather and the same old sunshine to start today, and no doubt the same old warm conditions later on (is this ever going to end?).

This has all become a bit repetitive and boring now.

The forecasts keep on saying that it's going to get a bit cooler in the coming days (though not today obviously) that that has to be taken as a pinch of salt, so I will believe that when I actually see that.

Currently around 13°C here in Edinburgh

Clear and sunny this morning with no sign of North Sea cloud at the moment.

Some cloud edging into Eastern areas now, hope this doesn't move back across.

EDIT:

Alas, we now have a few bits of easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea to cool things down a bit but that will no doubt have burnt back before too long and I would still expect it to warm up later on anyway especially given that it's likely to warmer in the city centre where I'm heading later on, than right here in NW Edinburgh where I'm that bit closer to the Firth of Forth.

Gloriously sunny from the word go today and 21.5 C

A NE drift is setting up though and I suspect N. Sea garbage will arrive this evening and last for a few days. Only 16 C expected on Wednesday 😲

Off to the Algarve for 4 weeks on 26th August. The Portuguese Met Service 10 dayer has 33 C forecast for Portimao, my nearest town on that day.

Today, over there, it's 38 C with an Amber heat warning. It's been a hot dry summer in Portugal as it has in much of Europe

Usually when I go for the month of September it's 30 C to start and 25 C by the end......I think this year it will be warmer 🙂

18°C at 4pm. Walked up to the Church to lock up, then and looped back through the village, by which time we decided it was too chilly to sit in the garden!

Today was the day when I was out and about at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival although it was a bit too hot for me as I generally don't cope very well with hot weather when I am outdoors. That's another reason why I prefer something a bit cooler and cloudier especially since we're still experiencing a predominately dry and sunny spell such as what we've been having for most of the year.

In the end, today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 22.8°C which is warmer than yesterday and warmer than what was forecast with a total of 11.7 hours of sunshine being recorded for today in the end which also makes today our sunniest day of this month so far.

However, it has cooled down a bit over the course of this evening with the temperature currently at around 13°C here in Edinburgh which should at least be a lot more comfortable for trying to sleep tonight.

Another very stuffy night here - it's been cloudy and humid.

It's overcast with an ENE'ly breeze, 16.7, dew 15.2, with the overnight low being 16.4. Yesterday's high was a pleasant enough 21.9.
