As I've said on here many a time, in a SW'ly flow the hottest places will often be to the north of the Downs, as they suffer from a foehn effect. PWSs in Sittingbourne (the next town up from Faversham) were reporting mostly 36s and 37s, so a 35.8 makes perfect sense.
I did say the other day I expected it'd show a 35 or more when it reported, and as it was the warmest station in the UK they understandably would have performed their usual quality checks.
