Quite sunny after a cloudy morning. A more seasonal 17 C & high 70% H under a gentle onshore south breeze. An improvement on yesterday.

An interesting day. Walked from my bit of Edinburgh in warm sunshine at 10am to Holyrood Park around Arthur's Seat and into a wall of cold haar. By the time we reached Duddingston village it was mostly sunny with just a bit of haar swirling around the top, quite atmospheric. Warm sunshine up in Edinburgh town, afternoon tea out in the sun in St Andrews Square. All the time I could see the haar lapping onshore down in Leith.

19 C here in the southside, 18 C Gogarbank, 16 C at the airport and maybe less at the Botanic Gardens?

A day when the BBC weather and Met Office have different forecasts for me for the same location.

BBC - Woodsford

Largely cloudy this morning as an area of heavy rain pushes in from the east with thunder likely for many. In the afternoon, the rain will clear to heavy, thundery showers, most easing by evening.

Met Office - Dorset Snow Centre

Morning fog patches will soon clear to leave bright day with plenty of sunny spells. However, scattered showers will form by the afternoon, some heavy with hail and thunder, especially in the east. A warm and humid day. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Which is to be?

So far it is a beautiful bright morning with some early sunshine and a temp of 12C. Flat calm.

Looking at the radar there is a large blob of rain in NW France. Even some lightning near Lille.

TBH I'm not sure what to expect. For an alternate take, I'm sure I can find an Express headline assuring me that a killer heatwave with 200 mile wall of now is on offer. One of those days I need to watch the radar.

13.3C cloudy, the clouds drifting N-wards and looking as if they could produce some rain (compare NMA above, who is 60 miles east of here)

Drizzly wet morning. The BBC forecast largely predicted this for first thing with the waving front, albeit further north of us into East Anglia. What they don't seem to have forecast is the heavier looking rain coming in from the near Continent and pushing north, clearing after 1 pm.

Just back from Weymouth. I left in fog drove over the Ridgeway to find Weymouth under sunshine and a glorious morning.

Back over the hill and it's lifted fog. All over the place the weather today. The radar shows rain to the east in a sort of stretched line before the large mass further east. No wind which is good.

The radar shows rain a few miles north of me though it feels almost showery/thundery. Very pleasant and calm at 19C.

A small red blob moving my way might be one of those fabled thunderstorms forming.

Watching the radar and getting ready to bring in the laundry.

16.4c, mostly cloudy and no rain as yet.

When I looked at the radar at 10, I was sure of some rain by 11, but since then the bands seems to be splitting and disintegrating along the line of the M4. Might get some in an hour but not counting on it just yet.

After a dull, gloomy and wet morning (4.6 mm so far) there is a subtle increase in light levels currently (like being inside a photography studio). An underwhelming 14.9 C & high 90% H but at least winds are dead calm.

This Spring is being like an engine of one of my past Ford cars, struggling to start up and when it does finally roar into life it stalls and takes ages to start up again.

A portent for early summer? I see no sign of anything approaching a settled spell raining all day so far in London

Fair with hazy sunshine making the current 17.5 C & mid 80% H feel pleasantly warm in light winds. A vast improvement on yesterday as this stop-start Spring splutter along.

Another warm day down here - 20.6 (dew 12.7) and plenty of sunshine, and, of course, no wind whatsoever. At least it's not humid for once!

Today's high so far is 20.9, following on from an overnight low of 8.2. Yesterday's high was 19.4.

(And the 91-20 average mid-May max is 17.3)

Brief sunny spells and reached 17C but sea fog early and late especially now it is shockingly thick and 10.8C.

It's quite late in main sea fog season for it to be so determined to completely blank out the whole area for miles inland and very little wind actually pushing it in.

15.6C. Calm and in a sunny patch, though there is a large area of rain to the southeast according to the radar though mainly over the Channel.

It has developed considerably in the past three or so hours.
