4C. A slushy white covering on roofs earlier but now cloudy with occasional bright spells and showery rain.
Calm too but according to the forecast that's set to change soon with a windy spell coming over sometime in the morning.

Last night was cold here in Edinburgh with a ground frost and we even had a bright start to this morning with some very early sunshine.

However, you had to be up really early to be able to notice that because by my normal time for getting up, it had already clouded over yet again.

Now, it's dull and dreary as I write with a fairly raw wind coming straight in off the North Sea which is making it feel rather unpleasant.

However, the temperature as at 8:10 am GMT (08:10 UTC) this morning had recovered to around 7°C here in Edinburgh.

EDIT:

It's now just started raining as I write and once again, it just goes from bad to worse.😡

That shower of rain has moved through and rather unexpectedly, it's brightened up a bit here in Edinburgh with even the odd sunny interval, although I shall wait and see how long that lasts for.

Heavy rain has set in once again here in Edinburgh and it's also become rather dark.

Currently around 8°C here in Edinburgh as at 12:20pm (12:20 UTC) this afternoon, so today is slightly milder than yesterday though not by much.

The rain has cleared away again, leaving us with a few bits of blue sky behind that but still a lot of cloud.

The wind has also died down but the temperature here in Edinburgh has dropped back to just 6°C as at 1pm (13:00 UTC) this afternoon.

Indeed, but still to the west of me by a few miles.
Yesterdays were quite impressive considering I have usually been either side of them in the past few summers when they form.
Some rumbles and flashes overhead last night. Certainly not boring weather.

Bright here, and rather windy, but not really up to yellow warning standard.

It's now turned out to be a nice, bright and sunny late afternoon here in Edinburgh and with that, the temperature has now jumped up to around 11°C as at 4:10pm GMT (16:10 UTC) this afternoon, giving us our first double figures temperatures for quite a while in these parts.

Today may well be Good Friday but there's sadly nothing good about our weather just now as this morning has started off on yet another damp and miserable note as we come towards the end of what has been a wet and miserable month here overall.

As at 7am GMT (07:00 UTC) this morning, the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 5°C.

The rain here has mostly fizzled out now.

As that is happening, the clouds are starting to break up a bit with a few patches of blue sky and even the odd brighter interval starting to appear (yes, I have even saw the odd, very brief and isolated glimpse of the Sun as well).

Hopefully, it won't therefore be too much longer before we join in with the rest of the UK in terms of getting what would be very welcome and badly needed sunshine here and if that happens, it should hopefully warm up a bit as well as a result.
