After yesterday's sunshine, albeit with a chilly wind, another conveyor belt of rain approaches from the west. After a light dump overnight.

Unpleasant at 8C with a light to moderate southerly breeze.

The conveyor band of rain seems to be conveying the rain band in a steady south to north direction about twenty to thirty miles west of me but not moving eastwards. It's sunny too.

A complete write-off of a day here in Edinburgh with rain throughout the day, especially from late morning onwards and it's still raining here even as I write.

It's also been a much colder day than of late with the wind blowing straight in from off the North Sea, and with temperatures no higher than around 6°C here in Edinburgh throughout today.

Not exactly spring-like!!😡

Last night was chilly but completely frost-free here in Edinburgh without even as much as a ground frost, despite the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank getting all the way down to just 2.5°C.

There was some further overnight rain which has now cleared away for now but it remains dull and overcast and so, the spring permacast hell goes on here into yet another day.😡

As at 7:20am GMT (07:20 UTC) this morning, the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 3°C and not even the least bit warm for this time of the year😡.

After yesterday's bleak day of 6 C, today is even colder with a Max of 5 C and still very grey.

In the last few minutes a moderate shower has moved in from the North Sea. There were blobs of sleet on the windscreen as I drove through it and the temperature is now 4.5 C here

It feels absolutely freezing out there with a fresh NE wind

Absolutely ridiculous!!😡

A wet and miserable start to this morning here in Edinburgh as our spring permacast hell goes on for yet another day (Edinburgh Gogarbank has still seen no recorded sunshine during this week so far and yet, we're almost halfway through the week now).

Currently around 4°C here in Edinburgh as at 8am GMT (08:00 UTC) this morning.

Plenty of snow just to the south of us this morning and I've seen images of snow yet again in The Highlands

Wet snow at my location late last night and again this morning, rain now, 3 C

54% of normal sunshine so far. March will be remembered here as very dull and wet!! 🤢

Here in Edinburgh, the rain is now clearing away to our north and at long, long last, it is actually brightening up with some blue sky to our south.

Hopefully, that will gradually bring us some badly needed and very welcome sunshine as this afternoon wears on although I've noticed from the latest radar map that there is another band of rain over SW Scotland which is gradually heading in this direction and which may well come into play here later on.

As at 1pm GMT (13:00 UTC) this afternoon, the temperature was still stuck at a dismally cold 5°C here in Edinburgh but I'm hopeful that it should at least warm up a little bit in any sunshine which we get this afternoon.

Sadly, that nicer slot didn't last for long and now, the rain is back yet again!!😡

Currently around 7°C here in Edinburgh as at 3:40pm GMT (15:40 UTC) this afternoon which is slightly milder than yesterday, but still not even the least bit warm for this time of year.😡

The rain has now finally cleared away and the Sun has even come out.

According to the latest radar maps, there's nothing else behind that which I can see other than the odd shower here and there so hopefully, the rain will stay away for the rest of the day this time.

A good few flashes of lightning overhead and some loud thunderclaps. Hail and a deluge. Could be summer but for the cold.

The radar looks busy around here.

4C. A slushy white covering on roofs earlier but now cloudy with occasional bright spells and showery rain.

Calm too but according to the forecast that's set to change soon with a windy spell coming over sometime in the morning.

Last night was cold here in Edinburgh with a ground frost and we even had a bright start to this morning with some very early sunshine.

However, you had to be up really early to be able to notice that because by my normal time for getting up, it had already clouded over yet again.

Now, it's dull and dreary as I write with a fairly raw wind coming straight in off the North Sea which is making it feel rather unpleasant.

However, the temperature as at 8:10 am GMT (08:10 UTC) this morning had recovered to around 7°C here in Edinburgh.

EDIT:

It's now just started raining as I write and once again, it just goes from bad to worse.😡
