Low pressure continues to have an influence on the weather, even though it isn't as wet as previously. Looking ahead to next week, unsettled conditions are likely to continue but there will be drier weather, too. Temperatures should often be quite mild if not warm at times.

Saturday morning has been dry and sunny across much of the country there has been wet weather across Northern Ireland, Wales and south west England. This afternoon will find the weather turning cloudier from the west with showery rain become more widespread in the west and pushing into some central regions but much of the north and east will stay dry until late afternoon. Temperatures range from 6C to 13C.

Overnight, showery rain spreads eastwards to all areas this evening. The rain should clear from Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England later in the night but the rain will become heavy and persistent across the rest of England and Wales. Temperatures 5C to 11C.

Sunday starts wet across much of the east and south east but most of the rain should steadily clear into the north sea to be replaced by sunny spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers could be heavy with hail and thunder but many places will miss them and stay dry. Temperatures will be very mild, if not warm, at 8C to 18C.

Monday will find us between low pressure areas so most places should stay dry with bright or sunny spells and just a few scattered light showers though more rain probably arrives in the west by evening. Temperatures still very mild at 7C to 15C.

The next area of low pressure will be pushing across the country on Monday night through to Tuesday. So Tuesday starts damp with showery rain in places. The weather may turn drier and brighter for a time before more heavy rain returns to the west during the evening. Another very mild or warm day at 8C to 16C.

Wednesday starts wet in many northern and eastern regions with persistent and heavy rain as well as hill snow across Scotland. The rain should generally turn light and patchy with brighter skies pushing southwards. Another very mild or warm day for England and Wales at 14C to 18C but colder for Scotland and Northern Ireland at 3C to 9C.

Thursday brings wet and windy weather to Scotland and Northern Ireland but England and Wales should stay mostly dry with sunny spells. Temperatures range from 6C to 18C.

A weather weather system pushes southeastwards across the country on Friday with cloud and light rain or drizzle probably followed by sunny spells. Temperatures closer to normal at 5C to 14C.

Next weekend may see more rain pushing southwards on Saturday followed by drier and colder weather for Sunday.

Summary: Unsettled with rain at times but also some drier weather too. Generally very mild or warm.

Thanks Gavin P. So another impresssive week for this month. If it turns colder next weekend - my hunch is that it won't last long.
