Next week, i.e. 9th March, someone else will need to open this thread if they want to be prompt as I'll be staying in a place where there's no Internet (yes, such places do exist!).

Beautiful morning here, although chilly with a min of -2.2c. We waited a while longer than normal to go for a run and the sun certainly was a welcome thing to see. 4.8c now, climbing rapidly.

Managed to get up to 10.8c, certainly higher than forecast and a lovely day for an afternoon walk, mud up to the top of my walking boots.

Given the blue skies till lunchtime, still no UV2 in Reading, 2 weeks later than last year, which seemed crap for sunshine.

A misty and frosty start to the morning - cars and lawn covered. Hoping for a quick warm up.

A cold and frosty start to today here in Edinburgh with an official air frost at all three of my local stations.

However, today has also started off on a bright and sunny note.

As a result, the temperature here in Edinburgh has now recovered to around 4°C as at 9:20 am GMT (09:20 UTC).

Bright with good sunny breaks thus making 10.6 C & low 80% H feel almost spring-like in light S breeze. That's a bit more like it.

10C. 4mm of overnight further adding to the mud heap. Mainly cloudy in this dullest of Winters/Springs. It has been a very depressing spell of weather with nothing decent about any aspect of it.

A lovely early spring day today with spells of sunshine and light winds. It reached a high of 12.5°C after a nippy morning.

A classic fine March day, if I'm honest.
