Some of the original members may remember my primitive article I did back in 2007 that ended up in the TWO Library. It involved 300 years of data around the winter CET. I started my data point from the winter of 1698/99. I added the temperature of each month of winter together to show bigger differences between the years and then classified them as mild, average, cold etc using the same criteria. The reason for my post today is just to say I have revisited the data to take a look at what has happened since the 1998/99 end to the series.
I obviously can't do another 100 years as I wont be alive and we haven't got there yet. However, the 100 year average, for the total temp recorded each winter for each 100 year period is below..

1699/00-1798/99 10.6c
1799/00-1898/99 10.9c
1899/00-1998/99 12.5c

Not including this winter, as we haven't finished it yet. I've done the same for the last 24 years and we are currently running at 14.905C. That's over a 4C difference in total temperature recorded over the CET area in 300 years.
Going to war over religion is like killing each other to see who has the better imaginary friend.
