I haven’t checked the data sets. Has there actually been a statistically significant increase in heart attacks and strokes or has there been an increase in reporting of these in certain areas of the media?

I would argue that the underlying factors will always be looked at in these situations, irrespective of whether they re then shared with the general public.

I've only just picked up on the story, DRM - and have not had time today to start digging. I thought it interesting enough to flag up.  It all seems a bit tentative at this stage. Hard to judge the significance - but interesting if it's an issue we need to pay attention to. My guess would be it will prove relatively insignificant compared to the known primary factors, genetics, risks and other vulnerabilities. My father's family have heart attacks at about 70 - so did I! We have high blood pressure issues. Many of us smoked at some stage. Weight and diet are issues. I don't think I am going to worry about microplastics, so you? Next generation perhaps? However, in terms of environmental risks worthy of research.

The microplastics issue is a very interesting one Roger, but that is not what my reply was about.
