Low pressure had been on control of the weather during March so far and in the coming week low pressure will remain dominant. So more spells of rain are likely with showers at in between but it should often be mild (away from northern Scotland anyway) No change this week.

Saturday morning has been showery for some parts of England and Wales while a band of more persistent rain is moving eastwards through Scotland and Northern Ireland. This afternoon will keep more heavy and persistent rain going through Scotland and Northern Ireland, though it will turn more showery in nature as the afternoon goes on. England and Wales will have heavy showers with a risk of hail and thunder mixed in with some of the heavier showers though some places will miss them and stay dry. Temperatures will be very mild in the south and east of 10C to 15C but cooler for Scotland and Northern Ireland at 5C to 9C.

Showers will rumble on into the evening before fading away with most places becoming dry overnight. Temperatures will be cooler with a slight frost possible for Scotland and Northern Ireland where temperatures range from 0C to 4C while the south will be frost-free at 5C to 8C.

Sunday finds a transient ridge of high pressure across the country ahead of the next area of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic.

Most places should have a dry day with plenty of bright or sunny spells but cloud and rain will start to put into Northern Ireland and western Scotland by late afternoon and early evening. Temperatures will be around average 6C to 12C.

Low pressure will be dominating the weather for Monday. We'll start the day with outbreaks of rain through much of Northern Ireland, Wales and England but Scotland could be dry. Through the day the wet weather pushed northward and eastwards with drier weather following for a time before more spells of rain set in from the south and west by evening. Despite the rain  at least it will be mild at 7C to 14C.

We'll be between areas of low pressure on Tuesday so most places will have a dry day with bright or sunny spells and variable cloud. There will be a few scattered showers in places though. By the end of the day cloud and rain will arrive across western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures 7C to 14C.

Wet and windy weather spreads across the country on Tuesday night with the wind and rain clearing the east coast by Wednesday morning. Sunny spells and blustery showers follow from the west with a risk of longer spells of rain in the north and west. Temperatures won't be too far from average at 5C to 12C.

Thursday and Friday will keep the unsettled weather going with showers or longer spells of rain pushing in from the Atlantic along with fresh or strong westerly winds. Temperatures will be near normal at 6C to 13C.

Next weekend looks unsettled with spells of rain and as colder air starts to dig in from the north some of the rain could turn to sleet or snow across northern Scotland. Temperatures will be turning colder in the north but should be mild in the south.

Summary: Very unsettled with spells of rain and showers in between. Average or mild temperatures.

Thank you, Gavin, perhaps some sunny days for the end of the month.

Others just get wet.
