Usually we've had one of these now in East Anglia or central England. This year nowhere near. In fact we're knocking up double figure temperatures at night as well.

I wonder when we'll see our first single figure daytime maximum. Doesn't look like it for at least another couple of weeks.

I am sure by now northern England certainly Scotland would have already somewhere seen daytime single figure maxes. September had a chilly spell if I recall correctly.
Anyway, for me down here personally I wouldn't start to expect seeing them until mid November, maybe even late if it's a mild November. October has been very mild but more so by night.

Its normally circa 20th November here.

Between late December and mid February our maxes occasionally fall below 5c !

My guess is mid to late november. We are more likley to see 20c+ over the next 10 days than single digit maximums.

The last single digit maximum was 3rd April here and we dont get many throught the winter either.

I recorded a max of 10.6°C in the garden on Wednesday last week but I think it will be quite a few days before we get a single figure max here. Aboyne’s max was around 9°C that day I think.

At my main local stations here in Edinburgh, the lowest maximum temperatures so far have been 10.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 10.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with both of those temperatures being recorded during the afternoon of Wednesday 19 October 2022.

From that, we can see that there hasn't been any single figures maximums so far at either of my main local stations in the north of Edinburgh, yet Edinburgh has actually had one single figures maximum temperature during this autumn as a maximum temperature of just 9.9°C was recorded on that very same afternoon at Swanston in the south of Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

I tend to see that at about the second week of November, at least I think so.

I did just get to single figures last Wednesday, with 9.9C, but apart from that it's been 12-16C pretty much every day for over a month at the time of year that should be seeing the most rapid decline in temperatures

The surreal blandness and lack of temperature variation just seems to become more entrenched with each lousy year that passes. I detest it.

Used to be normal to get days of 6-8C in October but this will be the fifth in the past decade not to drop below 9C as northerlies have become virtually extinct

However only one October I never recorded a sub-10C high and that was 2009 which also featured this horrific mild dross during the final third. 3rd November was the first day to record single figures that year.

The lack of warmth is just as ridiculous. Hasn't reached 15C since the 6th which is pathetic for October especially given it reached 16.5C on 19th November last year, a reading higher than 3 of the past 4 Octobers have managed

Was supposed to reach 16C this week but all we've had is 14C rubbish. Even 16C would be nothing of note for the time of the year given that it's reached 18-19C in late October/early November. Can't get the high temperatures we used to get because the wind just comes endlessly from the S or SE instead of the SW.

The endless mild nothingness and lack of variation is truly soul destroying.

I wouldn't be surprised if I had to wait til December.

The way things are here I'm barely even seeing anything below 15C by day and many nights in double figures.

Thought I was going to get one today - Shortly before midday temp sneaked up to 11C.

Having seen the forecast for this coming week - reckon it will be at least another 10 days before we may see our first one.

Almost managed a single figure max here today but not quite. The highest temperature in the garden today was exactly 10.0°C after a bright frosty start (and then rain).
