31.8C looks like the official max, at both Usk and Wiggonholt. Just missed out on a 32.

.. and I'll bet you that Richard still isn't happy up there.

Anyway, today has been an incredible day here in Edinburgh where it was both our sunniest day of this month so far, and our hottest day of this month so far.

The Sun shone virtually all day from dawn to dusk and in the end, a really incredible total of 14.1 hours of sunshine was recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Given that the nights are now drawing in very quickly, I don't expect that total to be beaten during the rest of this year even if the coming days continue to be continuously sunny.

Today's maximum temperature was 28.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, 28°C at Edinburgh Airport, 27.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and at least 27.4°C at Swanston in the south of Edinburgh.

Indeed, had this been just about any other year, today would have been likely to have easily gone down as the hottest day of that particular year with those sort of temperatures.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm BST (21:00 UTC) tonight was around 17°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
