It did reach here in the end but I think today is going to be the worst day. Absolutely pouring down this morning.
Relentless heavy rain today, following on from intermittent rain all day yesterday and overnight.
It's awful outside.
Drizzly here with a fresh SW'ly breeze. Only 1.2mm of rain so far.
991.8mb and falling steadily, a sure sign things are deteoriorating.
The snow warning for parts of the city and much of eastern Scotland has now been removed and for areas just to the north been replaced with a rainfall warning. Cold, wet and miserable. Snow to the south, to the east and north. It sums up the last 8 years or so of winters here nicely.
(OT) I have forgot the last time I had a classic snow shower from a northerly. Any weather from the north seems to have a westerly element to it a straight Northerly or NE flow is more rare then Easterlys now 😨
Just a bit too early - this at 12.48

85 warnings and 240 alerts, and no doubt rising. You can't see anything of England and Wales N of the M4 for red triangles!
Pretty horrendous situation developing now close to the River Mersey in south Manchester - East Didsbury, Northenden areas.
I have never recalled severe flooding in these areas affecting homes, I’m worried tonight could be an exception.
The radar looks horrific.
Wet snowflakes falling, 3.2C and 38.4mm so far today
2.6C and more snow in the mix

ca 1972 when we were living in Darley Avenue, Manchester, close to the Mersey it was overtopping the flood banks in places and especially running a foot or more deep across the Northenden Road. But that was after a summer thunderstorm dumped a swift 4" of rain on the Peak District one night.
