I think she has been called first about 9/10 times. She really is the darling of number 10

Don't be ridiculous. The BBC always get asked first whoever is asking the question.

LOL!

If anything epitomises the Tory Party, it is that whilst the retail, hospitality, tourism, entertainment, restaurant and pub industries crash and burn with millionsof jobs on the line, and healthcare and social care workers are still dying by the dozen through lack of adequate PPE, the government makes a special provision to get nannies back to work.

Sure they did that the other day as well. Something like a revision down of 90 odd, but was quite significant as it dropped the daily total from something like 380 to 290 odd.

Really fills you with confidence these reported numbers!

From the PRWeek trade rag...

PR pros lambast new Government 'Stay alert' slogan as 'unclear' and 'unhelpful'

Communications experts believe the update from the 'Stay home, protect the NHS, save lives' to 'Stay alert, control the virus, save lives' will confuse the public and is too vague and open to interpretation, when what is needed is clarity. Some have taken aim at the slogan being leaked to the press.

What does it mean?

Several PR industry leaders speaking to PRWeek were left perplexed by the “ambiguity” of the new messaging.

Ginny Paton, a managing partner responsible for PR at Iris, questioned what ‘stay alert’ actually means.

“It’s vague, unclear and unhelpful,” she said. “If ever there was a message created by committee, this was it. It says nothing while covering everything.

“There was plenty of time and opportunity for clarity to be provided by the time we got to [Sunday night's] briefing. Massive own goal for the government.”

Both Whitty and Vallance suggested in the briefing they’d be gobsmacked if there was wasn’t some form of breakthrough in fighting this virus - whether it’s a vaccine or a successful treatment regime.

That’s a minor positive in let’s be honest, what has been another frustrating and tiresome day.

It's only when I watched the Press conference I realised how badly the Government have lost the plot and how flustered they are because they know it. I'm afraid The King is in the Altogether.

Well this is all getting so confused and over complicated. A minister on TV said it is now fine to drive anywhere to go for a walk or sunbathe so long as you don't leave England and go home the same day. On another channel a spokesman was asked if it was ok now to drive to their son's university digs and pick up his personal belongings. He said, no because it isn't an essential journey!! They've the lost plot now and they know it.

It's not complicated in fact it really only needs two questions.

1. Will what I do increase the risk of transmission and of me infecting somebody? If yes don't do it. If no it's ok

2. Will what I am about to do increase the risk of me catching it? If yes, don't do it. If no, it's ok.

It really isn't difficult.

(You could add - will what I do increase pressure on the NHS, if it will then don't do it, but this is less relevent now the are well below peak, especially in A&E).

And this is the mantra I will be following.

That's the problem where most can risk assess after the information they have seen. At the far end of the spectrum, about 10% just don't have any common sense or clue however if their instructions are not written down. You get people ringing 999 and wanting the police as their 7 year old refuses to do as their told. No nous, no decision making skills, they just don't get it.

You've probably got another 10% who think themselves too special for the restrictions to apply to them.
