Just 1.4mm for the month here so far, and doesn't look like we will have anything worthwhile tomorrow but perhaps 1mm or so.

20mm now.

Looks like its finally moving east as I've been pretty much on its eastern edge for the most part with nearby Thorney (12 miles east) recording little rain until around lunch. Local stations in gosport seeing similar to me.

Sods law though that embedded back edge t-storm will end up going east when it makes landfall

Just done a tot-up of April's (so far) rainfall amount and it came to "trace" (less than 0.2 mm where what little rain we had wasn't enough to tip the rain gauge).

Even I don't feel that confident about seeing much in the way of rain over the next couple or so days despite the models showing a chance of a thunderstorm over Kent tonight.

Very odd! Thorney is halfway between us and it was raining heavily here from 0900 as noted above

Only 1mm here so far this month.  Still below the driest April I've recorded (7mm in 2007).

Just 2mm of rain has fallen here in the last 4 weeks, a stark contrast to the 94.5mm that fell in the 4 weeks of February.

Still no rain here yet today. Now the longest April dry period in my 12 years of records.

Just 2.7mm so far this month and that was weeks ago

Last proper Rainfall was 17th March with 7.7mm

Cant see it raining any time soon, so a record dry April is very likely along with many others I am sure

Just to confuse the issue, Thorney has ended up with the MetO (official stations only, of course) highest rainfall for yesterday at 20.6mm

Yesterday's and overnight rain has broken the April drought, and indeed is the first rainfall here since 15th March, which was 5 weeks ago.

So April's total is now 11.4mm.

Ended up with 8.7 c mm since it started raining yesterday evening at this end of Kent, a little light relief for the lawn but is already drying up.

EDIT: Just as I type this, there are some sferics over mid-Kent with someone at Canterbury reported "a huge clap of thunder".

23.4mm from the rain yesterday and the heavy showers overnight. More than I was expecting.

It was needed though. 27 of the previous 28 days had been dry with just 1.8mm on the day it did rain.

Not sure how the overnight rain managed to miss Essex but not really surprised that it did. Just 0.4mm here which is the sum total for April and looking at the charts is unlikely to go up much.
