Sheffield weather station matching our current record of 34.3C. It's no an official station but like I said in my previous post it was bang in line with the official max temp yesterday so I'm excited that we're about to surpass our all-time record!

My iPhone app has downgraded the max from 39 to 38... although oddly it still shows 39C as the hourly figures for 3pm and 4pm!

Probably down to Stansted or Cambridge to hopefully get to 38 before the cloud and rain arrives then

34C now here.  I hope somewhere will reach offical 100F so that both July and August will see 100F.  40C seem very hard to get due to clouds reports, why they have to rush in too early and ruin it as normally they form late in the afternoon or evening not midday to early afternoon. Still sunny here.

No tweets from the Met Office for a while so I assume nothing exciting has happened since the last hourly readings.

Stansted AP must be close to 100f now still hardly any clouds here. Is it an official station though?

Dont forget Faversham (Brogdale). It doesn’t report automatically, but Headcorn just to the South - and not typically a hotspot - is at 36C and there’s no cloud over Kent.

This is the second time this has happened with recent record attempts. It’s even started to rain.

33.4C and sunny. Some clouds bubbling up to my South.

Amazing to see that Buxton at over 300 m asl has climbed above 30C. That is quite rare for them.

I'm guessing the 2pm report will have some near 38C reports.

I can't see us getting to 38.5C now though.

35.9c here in rural Berkshire, 36.3c at Reading Uni. I presume the Concrete Temperature breaks at 50c as it now reads N/A and was happy at 48c.

Bedford is still malfunctioning. And that was one of the hottest, if not the hottest. What a cock-up.
