The overnight rain which was brought about by Storm Freya has now cleared away and although there is still a lot of cloud around, it is very slowly, starting to brighten up a bit with the Sun starting to make an appearance.
However, that has resulted in a total of 2.4 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning, along with 2.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This means that today will go down as yet another official rain day at both of those stations.
It is also colder this morning than what it has been for a while, although still not cold enough for any frost.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 2.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 3°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 4.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 4°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
