Clear and much colder than of late now with the temperature continuing to drop fairly sharply, although no official air frost has been recorded at any of my three local stations as of yet.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 1.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 1°C at Edinburgh Airport and 1.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Quite windy here but still got down to +2.6 with a hint of frost in shelter.

Looks like being sunny all day perhaps the best of this spell.

Today has started off on a cold and frosty note with an official air frost being recorded at all three of my local stations, although the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is now slightly above freezing as I write. However, that has then taken us into a bright and sunny start to this morning.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 0.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -2°C at Edinburgh Airport and -1.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Sunny here for the first morning since Monday but temperature went no lower than 4.3C when just about everywhere else has managed a frost.

Complete and utter garbage. Mind numbingly tedious.

No frost last night; some hints of the sun trying to break through, but the forecast suggested some fog patches could last until lunchtime.

A completely sunny morning means that a total of 3.7 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

After a cold start as well, the temperatures have really shot up over the last few hours which means that it's back to being mild again with double figures temperatures at all three of my local stations.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was -0.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -2°C at Edinburgh Airport and -1.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

However, the temperature at 12 noon had now soared to a relatively tropical 10.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Fine and sunny thus making the current 10.2 c & 79% h feel positively Spring-like mild in calm air. However, I have observed a frost first thing this morning after a min of 1.8 at 4.45 am.

Kinda remind me of the infamous "Bartlett" winters of '88 & '89 where it often was pleasant at my south-facing coastal area and I used to be a landscape worker for the council.

Here the wind is pretty strong and highest so far is only 9.7C despite nice sunshine.

It's a fake mild spell so far.
