Well I qualify on both those counts, I`m 76 and will be 77 at the end of November. Also have a rare blood cancer (Primary Myelofibrosis).
I`m still hoping to reach the end of this month without any heating though (apart from the bathroom towel rail).

6C this morning - so the bathroom radiator is nice to have as is the living room one for an hour.

Depends on a persons condition and where situated... I am on a hill crest getting all breezes from NW to round North to South East. Rear view to the north through a large field/paddock. Then the wind comes across the Cam Valley.

It`s 23.8C in our lounge at the moment so no need for heating. It will be much cooler later on this afternoon though. Our lounge faces East with large windows taking up most of the East wall, so the morning sun warms the room. It`s different in the winter though when an East wing is blowing (but of course we have the heating on then).
Our gable end faces due South so the afternoon sun warms the brickwork, and I suppose some of that heat transfers through into the house.

Down to 17 C in the living rm earlier, but the sunny intervals have now lifted that temperature to 18 C. Our lounge is the full length of the house and faces N/S with 3 outside walls. The cavity wall insulation here could be better so this room does cool down readily. Have now brought the log basket in for the season - may need the wood burner lit for a few hours tonight to take the chill off - will really depend upon just how much sunshine we get here today.
4.5C minimum this morning so the heating went on for an hour or so. Would have otherwise been quite unpleasant getting out of the shower!

nearly went on this morning, but by the time I got out of bed it was warm as the sunshine was coming through the windows and heating the house nicely.
So the wait goes on a bit longer...

I was hoping to save that until later now but although it's not actually all that cold just now, those strong winds which we're getting has quite a chill to it which has gone through the house by enough for the heating to have to go on for now at least.
I’m with you on that Eric. Although it isn’t just temperatures that dictate our heating, I feel the cold much more when the weather’s damp. It just chills me to the bone and I don’t have a disability!

My bedroom temperature has often been in the low double figures and I just put an extra quilt on.
I have managed to get through a whole winter without hearing being on in the past. It's a last resort for me.

... It hasn't been switched on this year yet - probably broken as usual

Switch Boiler off each evening before retiring to bed. On again when it is time to get up. Do this all year round. Daytime is set by the wall thermostat which gets turned up or down according to room conditions.

No heating required at all down here, and I have a generally cold house. (Current living room temp 21*C.) Apart from day length (it getting dark by 7.30pm) it could pretty much be summer.

Also thankfully, my house is a modern build and keeps its heat pretty well - as evidenced this summer! I don't anticipate putting the heating on until next month at the earliest, and even then I'll be stingy with it.
Loving the weather whatever it brings, snow, rain, wind, sun, heat, all great!
May have to come on this weekend, after 4 months. Longest gap ever. Hope the pilot light hasn't gone out!
Just moved the thermostat up a degree so it is now on.
I've had to bite the bullet and put heating on now.
