Mostly cloudy....very warm...26.4c....will any rain reach here??....I thinking not...but hoped to be proved wrong.....last few days has seen a rapid deterioration from Brown grass to now scorched and parched....looks like Malaga...Rather than Leics...

There are occasionally bright spells but largely cloudy still.

It is, however, warm with a current temp of 23C, and much more humid than recent weeks with a DP of 16C.

The Met Office forecast has now changed from showing no rain today, to showing thunderstorms all afternoon. I doubt that will happen.

The thunder that appeared on the Met O app for here has now disappeared.  It still shows rain but I’m expecting that to disappear as well.

It's the rain I'm after - I'll be hacked off if we miss out on that, desperately needed (not least because I'm trying to dig out some ground in the garden and it's like concrete.)

We had about 1 minute of heavy rain which has dampened the ground, which I guess signals the end of the no rain record but hardly made an impact.

Never mind, at least the gardens are getting a much needed watering just now.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Series of thundery showers since about 6pm and not done yet, 17mm so far - nothing too torrential and not raining all the time.

Will have done the world of good already and should be a bit more yet.

Remarkably warm and balmy evening in Cambridge, with only a light breeze. Still a glow in the sky to the west, illuminating the small strato cumulus clouds. Very pleasant!

A few showers this morning and temperature around 17C. Bit disappointed with today so far. Was hoping for a bit more sun and no rain! Still early though i suppose
