After two sunny mornings in a row, today has been a case of normal service as this morning has started off on more of a dull and mostly overcast note. The Sun did come through for a short period of time just a short while ago, but nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 8.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 9.2ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 10.9ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 11.3ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

More in the way of high cloud even at this end of Kent, giving off a halo around the sun. But still very pleasant at 19 C & 69% H as well as continuing bone dry (lawn is now all brown).

The Sun came out for a while during this morning, but it has now become cloudy once again with yet another return to constant grey skies (grey being by far, the most common colour of the sky in this part of the world, especially at this time of year) with only a very feeble attempt by the Sun to be seen through all of that. As at 12 noon, this has resulted in 2.0 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 15.3ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 16.4ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Cleared up for a few hours sun with the temperature reaching 19.6C. Just as I was starting to enjoy it the next wall of overcast muck came spewing down from the North and temperature is in free-fall - down to 16.3C. Vile

About half an hour ago, I thought it suddenly felt dry and "arid"-like so I looked at my sensor, not only it reached 26 C (and in the shade) but also a bone dry desert-like 25% humidity. That's like washing-dry-in-minutes conditions.

It is currently 25 C & 30% H now.

The cloud appears to a bit more broken now but all of the blue sky which there is, is currently in the wrong place for allowing us to see anything of the Sun. Consequently, the rather disappointing total of just 3.1 hours of sunshine have been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 17.9ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 18.6ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A lot of medium and high cloud today so a bit disappointing but 19 C felt ok. Still breezy though. Hoping for more sun tomorrow
