it's overcast here in Edinburgh yet again as this year's annual June permacast goes on but for now, it's dry at the moment.

Having said that, there was some showery rain about two and a half hours ago but that only resulted in a total of 0.2 mm of rain being recorded for yesterday in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 0.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

However, it is a warmer night than of late and so, the temperature at midnight was 13.1ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 13.4ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Dull and breezy at the moment here at Kent with the current 14.8 C feeling rather cool and clammy. Come back nor'easter wind, all is forgiven as at least the weather was actually better under that!

That's better. The sun dancing around in totally clear skies. However, there is still that freshness in the air at 17.8 C & 77% H under a moderate south west breeze but is now blazing hot in my sheltered west-facing front door porch.

For a while during this afternoon, the weather wasn't actually too bad as the clouds broke up a bit more after lunchtime to allow us to see a bit more in the way of sunshine. That in turn has resulted in 4.1 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.

However, normal service has now once again been resumed during the last wee while as the annual June permacast has once again re-commenced, thereby causing us to return to that same old grey and depressing nothingness as before. It is also very windy with maximum gusts now getting up to 39.1mph from the west at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm.

Even with that afternoon sunshine though, the temperatures haven't exactly been exciting and so today's maximum temperature was 17.2ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 17.4ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 16.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 16.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A nice pleasant surprise here today. Much sunnier than forecast and warmer too - 26C at the moment. Actually the first “summer day” by the European definition here for some time.

Looks pleasant in Aberdeen too...

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 11.7ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 12.1ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
