For a while during this afternoon, the weather wasn't actually too bad as the clouds broke up a bit more after lunchtime to allow us to see a bit more in the way of sunshine. That in turn has resulted in 4.1 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.
However, normal service has now once again been resumed during the last wee while as the annual June permacast has once again re-commenced, thereby causing us to return to that same old grey and depressing nothingness as before. It is also very windy with maximum gusts now getting up to 39.1mph from the west at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm.
Even with that afternoon sunshine though, the temperatures haven't exactly been exciting and so today's maximum temperature was 17.2ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 17.4ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 16.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 16.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
