Reading just managed 7 on both 2nd and 3rd August- quite a feat so late in the year. 6.5 on 8th after the heatwave had passed.
I've returned from Tenerife where, in the mountains (where we stayed) the factor was 10 or 11 most days (when the notorious 'sea of cloud' wasn't plaguing the western slopes) and up on Teide, 2500 m up, it was much higher- you could feel yourself burn through substantial trousers and shirts and quite quickly even through sunblock (on exposed forearms etc).
Back home, and August often brings a handful of 6s.
