7.2, 6.9, 7.0 last 3 days. Certainly a run of high UVs. 8 being forecast for here for a couple of days soon, before it inevitably slips away again.

Increasingly remarkable run of 6+; sadly lacking in 7s and 8s.

I see some 8's being forecast in CS England for Monday/Tuesday, as opposed to just in the SW as per recently...

Yep, we've got an 8 offered for Monday and Thursday fairly locally. So the best isn't over yet.

It's only been just over 6 the last couple days , however skies have been quite hazy/cloudy. A good continental clear feed could see an 8.

Reading just managed 7 on both 2nd and 3rd August- quite a feat so late in the year. 6.5 on 8th after the heatwave had passed.

I've returned from Tenerife where, in the mountains (where we stayed) the factor was 10 or 11 most days (when the notorious 'sea of cloud' wasn't plaguing the western slopes) and up on Teide, 2500 m up, it was much higher- you could feel yourself burn through substantial trousers and shirts and quite quickly even through sunblock (on exposed forearms etc).

Back home, and August often brings a handful of 6s.

6.3 on Tuesday, but much lower values today and yesterday (as if that's any surprise!)

5.8 in Reading today. I saw those clouds to the N and am confident we had a 6 further south. Roger- Forest Edge- what did you get?

I had 5.3 that day and 5.1 yesterday. Be surprised if we see 6 again now!

5.1 today in Reading around 2, with a double peak: 5.0 shortly after 12 and a bit of interpolation suggests a potential 5.4 or so if there wasn't such a break.

I think you're right though Roger; I don't remember a September 6, although 2.9.2011 managed a 5.3 and 1.9.1999 a 5.7 at well after 2pm in another double peak with 5.5 at noon so any uninterrupted sunshine further south may well have done it. 3.9.99 and 3.9.2006 also made a 5.7.

Still 5.2 on Friday. I burned slightly today actually, despite Reading's <4 reading. When the sun came out on the S Downs, you could feel the skin burning.
